Crossroads Baptist church was first built somewhere around the late 1850s or early 1860s on property that today is covered by the waters of Lake Summit.
It was a one room building of simple structure and served as both a school house and a place of worship.
A new church was built in 1912 on land donated by Dr. Levi Jones and those who were buried at the old location were exhumed and reburied at the present graveyard site.
It also was a one room structure that stood just a few feet in front of the new one that is now brick.
The present building was constructed in the early 1960s and seats around 100 people.
We are located off of highway 25 about eight miles south of Hendersonville, NC and overlook the waters of Lake Summit.
Our church is made up of working people who still believe in the old time way of worship and preach and teach from the King James Bible.
We believe that Jesus was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life here
upon this earth.
His life was not taken but was offered sacrificially.
He died and was buried in a borrowed tomb for three days.
At the appointed time He arose from the grave and was seen ascending to the
Father where He is even now interceding on our behalf.
We believe that He is soon returning to call up all who have made Him their
Lord and Savior to live with Him throughout eternity.
We believe that we were called to be missionaries both at home and beyond
and seek to carry out that mission.
Our church is a family oriented church and about one out of five of our
regular attendance is made up of children and teens.
We have members here that have been a member of this church for over fifty
years and still support it faithfully.
We are strong in our beliefs and pray that we will never deviate from, nor
compromise the truth of Gods word, that being the old 1611 King James Bible.
